Erba
Incino
Charming historic villa from the late 18th century, located in a hilly and panoramic area of Erba, just below the famous village called "la contrada", an ancient and characteristic urban nucleus. The villa features all the architectural elements of the period that give the property elegance and refinement, accentuated by the presence of a magnificent portico. It has the typical U-shaped plan, which embraces a beautiful courtyard partly green where there are four centuries-old lime trees. It is spread over three floors, in addition to a small cellar in the basement, and is currently divided into two residential units. The entire property, which requires renovation, still retains ancient Lombard terracotta floors, rosettes, various fireplaces and a veranda in frosted glass and iron. The property is completed by an additional green area of about 350 square meters, an ideal place to create a pleasant outdoor swimming pool. Subject to the appropriate technical checks, a private garage could easily be built, without affecting the villa.
HISTORICAL NOTES:
The Villa, built at the end of the 18th century, was owned by Federico Ajroldi who also personally took care of the renovation, donated to him by his father, a famous banker known as the co-founder of Credito Italiano and owner of a private bank.
The Villa was the center of numerous events during the war, hosting various personalities from politics, literature and the arts, such as the famous Russian ballerina Ruskaja, actors such as Amedeo Nazzarri, Alida Valli, the pianist Sangiorgi and numerous painters.
Finally, we remember Cardinal Ferrari who attended and blessed the Villa at its inauguration following the renovation. The passage is documented at the entrance of the Villa by a plaque on the wall that is still visible today.
